Earlier this year, the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care welcomed medical student Joseph Herbert all the way from Australia. By happy coincidence, Joe was placed in the North of Scotland, where Dr Pam Hardy, FPHC Chair is based. Joe has shared his reflections on his UK-based elective placement, read on to find out more.
Elective Placement Reflection - Joseph Herbert, Medical Student, University of Queensland, Australia
The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care offers a yearly elective program where successful applicants can experience a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) or Facilitated Placement.
Students who complete these electives write reports about their experiences, which we are pleased to feature below. These reports provide insights into their daily activities, such as participating in training exercises, attending meetings and debriefs, and observing shifts.
