IBTPHEM Training Committee Vice Chair – Volunteer Opportunity

The Intercollegiate Board for Training in Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine (IBTPHEM) is seeking applications for the voluntary role of Training Committee Vice Chair.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the leadership and strategic direction of PHEM training across the UK. Working alongside the Training Committee Chair, the Vice Chair will help deliver the Committee's programme of work, support quality assurance, contribute to trainee development, and deputise for the Chair when required.

About the role

This voluntary appointment offers the opportunity to:

  • Support the strategic delivery of the Training Committee's work.
  • Deputise for the Chair at meetings and events.
  • Contribute to the development and quality assurance of PHEM training.
  • Support trainee wellbeing and educational initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with College staff, Training Programme Directors and partner organisations.

The role has an average commitment of approximately 2 hours per week, including attendance at four Training Committee meetings and four IBTPHEM Board meetings each year. The appointment is for an initial three-year term, with reasonable travel and subsistence expenses reimbursed.

Vacancy: FPHC Conference Lead

The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care is inviting applications for the voluntary role of Conference Lead.

The Conference Lead will provide strategic and operational leadership for the development, planning and delivery of the Faculty’s Conference. Working closely with the Conference Committee, Faculty staff, the Faculty Executive Committee and external partners, the successful applicant will help ensure that the conference reflects the Faculty’s strategic priorities and provides a high-quality educational experience for delegates.

The role will include chairing the Conference Planning Group, developing the conference theme and programme, identifying potential speakers and working with Faculty staff on timelines, budgets, sponsorship opportunities and operational arrangements. The Conference Lead will also support collaboration with professional bodies and partner organisations and help evaluate the conference to inform future development.

Applicants must be members of the Faculty in good standing and should have experience within pre-hospital emergency medicine. They should also demonstrate strong leadership, organisational, communication and collaborative-working skills. Previous experience of conference leadership, programme development or chairing a committee or working group would be advantageous.

This is a voluntary appointment for a three-year term. The time commitment will vary throughout the year and will increase during the months leading up to the conference. Reasonable travel and subsistence expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with College policy.

Vacancy: Chair of the FPHC Regional Group

The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care is inviting applications for the position of Chair of the FPHC Regional Group.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop the Faculty’s regional network, working with regional representatives to strengthen member engagement, promote collaboration across the regions and ensure regional perspectives continue to inform the work of the Faculty.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative Faculty member with strong leadership and communication skills and a commitment to strengthening regional representation.

The appointment is for a three-year term and is a voluntary position.
