Administration of Methoxyflurane (Penthrox™) as a Pre-Hospital Analgesic by Specialist Police Officers; A Retrospective Audit of Patient Report Forms.

Providing Specialist police officers with early lifesaving medical skills has occurred over the last decade and is subject to individual case audit, which demonstrated the need for the safe provision of analgesia. This study reports the use of Methoxyfluorane (Penthrox™) by non-registered providers and demonstrates its effectiveness in providing quality pain relief.

Update on the upcoming Crowd Doctor & Practitioner Course

The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care has taken the difficult decision to postpone the upcoming Crowd Doctor & Practitioner Course, due to take place in September 2020. We will release the dates for the next course as soon as these arrangements have been made. Practitioners who may have been planning to renew their qualification this year should apply for a ‘letter of comfort’ for employment purposes to the faculty office.
