Pause on Faculty Accreditation Applications

In light of the revised PHEM curriculum now in use since August 2022, we are reviewing the eligibility criteria for the FIMC examination for non-PHEM trainee practitioners, as well as the eligibility criteria for consultant (level 8) practitioner registration, to ensure that these align for all practitioners equitably. As a result, we are putting a short pause on both applications.

FPHC HEMS ELECTIVES 2023

The Faculty has arranged with The Air Ambulance Service (TAAS), the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust (EHAAT) and the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) for successful medical student applicants to spend a 4-week elective experiencing a HEMS based PHEM system. Please send your completed application electronically to fphc@rcsed.ac.uk to be received by 12:00 Monday 10 October 2022. The decision will be made and the successful applicant notified no later than Monday 31 October 2022.

RCSEd Saddened by the Passing of Queen Elizabeth II

Professor Michael Griffin OBE, President of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, said: "We are deeply saddened by the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, who served our country and the Commonwealth with complete dedication throughout her lifetime. We look back on her remarkable reign with great pride and gratitude and join the rest of the world in mourning her loss."
