Many organisations provide training for responders embarking on their pre-hospital careers and during their continued professional development. The FPHC manual was designed to provide the foundation material and additional references for training and on-going study.
This latest edition has taken in to account many well recognised sources of high-quality clinical reference points and best practice, for example, the British Thoracic Society, Joint Royal Colleges Ambulance Liaison Committee and UK Resuscitation Council guidelines to name a few. In addition, it includes, where appropriate, extracts from consensus statements issued by The Faculty of Pre-hospital Care.
The Foundation Material For Immediate Care is available to purchase as a hard copy or as an e-copy. Costings are as follows:
Hard Copy £30.00 + £4.29 postage
E - Copy £30.00

This manual has been produced by the FPHC on behalf of the medical working party of the Association of Chief Police Officers. A police officer can often be the first to arrive at incidents involving casualties, some of whom may have suffered major injuries. In the first few moments of these incidents the Police officer’s medical expertise and skill can make the difference between life and death.
This manual highlights the importance of adopting a structured patient assessment that will direct the police officer to the casualties treatment priorities. It allows for the potent delivery of the simple skills that can potentially make the greatest difference to patient survival and in many cases reduce suffering.
It therefore gives the FPHC great pleasure to offer this new edition of the clinical material for police officers and we hope that you find the contents useful in your current and future training and education in prehospital care.
The price for the Clinical Material For Police Officers In Specialist Role Manual is £12.00.
