FPHC Wellbeing Charter

10 November 2025

  Back to News Home

The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care has today published its first Wellbeing Charter, setting out clear, practical standards to support the health, safety and psychological wellbeing of all staff and volunteers working in pre-hospital care.

Developed through national surveys, focus groups and consultation across NHS ambulance trusts, air ambulance charities, voluntary responder organisations and trainees, the Charter identifies four key areas where simple organisational actions can make a significant difference:

Policies, Facilities, Support, and CPD & Examination Provision.

The Charter is designed for use by any pre-hospital organisation, regardless of size or funding model, and includes an accompanying A4 poster for display in bases, stations and clinical hubs.

The paper has been accepted for publication / will be shared once published.

Why this matters

The Charter supports the wider aims of the FPHC psychosocial programme, helping organisations to reduce avoidable “secondary stressors”, promote safer working cultures and sustain a skilled, healthy workforce.
