The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care (FPHC) Student and Trainee Group (STG) aims to develop and extend opportunities in training and education for careers in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM). The FPHC STG recognises the challenges of pursing a career in Pre-Hospital Care.
The Career Insight programme has been designed to create a resource, which provides an insight into the different career pathways of Pre-Hospital Care clinicians. The FPHC STG committee conducted the career interviews over a period of 12 months, in total 18 clinicians were interviewed. Interviews were audio recorded and then transcribed by members of the FPHC Student and Trainee Group committee. The transcription was then sent to the interviewee for review and approval. Following this, the FPHC STG Chaircarried out final editing.
The Career Insight programme demonstrates the diversity of the Pre-Hospital Care workforce and highlights the spectrum of the multi-disciplinary team. We would like to say thank you to everyone who gave up their time to be interviewed.
