Yorkshire Regional Group of the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care
The YRFPHC board has been watching the situation and guidance with regards to COVID19 closely and have now reluctantly taken the decision to cancel the 2020 event.
Even though the event is still four months away, it seems very unlikely that the pandemic will have moved on sufficiently to allow us to sensibly host an event which would require a large group to sit together in a lecture theatre and to undertake simulations that require close contact, sometimes in a confined space.
Furthermore, national pressures on PPE are such that it would be irresponsible of us to use a significant amount for a training event.
We are aware that the training weekend is considered an important part of the CPD calendar by many pre-hospital responders within Yorkshire, and that cancellation may cause some disappointment but we hope you understand our rationale.
Please rest assured that we will restart the regional CPD evenings as soon as possible and we have already started work towards the 2021 CPD weekend with the aim of bringing you the best event so far.
We hope that the YRFPHC group is seen as more than just a series of CPD events, and I know that some members see the group as a network of like minded colleagues. The board are keen that this ethos grows and if you would like to discuss any aspect of pre-hospital care (training, exams, delivery, clinical quandaries etc), the board members will all be very keen to support you and would be delighted to hear from you.
Best wishes,
Andy Pountney
Chairman
