The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care are sorry to announce that the decision has been taken to halt recruitment for the Diploma in Mountain Medicine 2020 intake. There will be no intake for this year and recruitment will recommence under UCLan in 2021
Please be assured that this decision was not taken lightly. The faculty considered many factors based on the high levels of uncertainty around the current COVID-19 pandemic.
The welfare of all of our students is of utmost importance to the programme staff and the faculty concluded that asking students to commit to undertake a heavily practical programme of this type would be unreasonable so the decision to cancel the 2020 cohort was agreed.
We understand that this news will be hugely disappointing for all our applicants, but we feel sure you will agree that this outcome is the right and proper decision.
Please bookmark the NCRRM page https://www.ncrrm.co.uk/courses/ for future details of the next intake at UCLan in 2021.
The Mountain Medicine programme will move from its current home in the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh to the University of Central Lancashire in late 2020.
